Tomero Single Vineyard Merlot – premium Argentine Merlot from the Uco Valley
Tomero Single Vineyard Merlot is a carefully selected, single-vineyard red wine from Argentina’s renowned Mendoza wine region, sourced from the higher-altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley. The cooler Andean climate and significant day–night temperature variation allow the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, preserving fresh fruit character while developing deep, concentrated aromas.
Aroma and flavor profile
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-red color. On the nose, intense black and blue fruits unfold: ripe plum, blackcurrant, and black cherry, complemented by delicate spicy notes with hints of cocoa and coffee.
On the palate it is rich yet balanced. The dark fruit character is supported by velvety tannins and well-integrated acidity, placing the wine between medium and full-bodied. The finish is long, with subtle spiciness and elegant, lingering fruit.
Food pairing
Tomero Single Vineyard Merlot is a versatile partner at the table. It pairs particularly well with:
- grilled or roasted red meats
- beef and lamb dishes
- flavorful, tomato-based stews and ragùs
- aged semi-hard and hard cheeses
It is also a strong choice for special occasions: refined but not overpowering, making it suitable for festive dinners, relaxed wine tastings with friends, or a quiet evening glass of wine.
Serving suggestions
The wine shows its best between 16–18 °C. Before serving, allow it to breathe briefly – either in a large red wine glass or by decanting – so that the full spectrum of fruit and spice notes can open up.
Tomero Single Vineyard Merlot is ideal for those who appreciate characterful yet silky Merlot wines and want to explore the distinctive style of Argentina’s high-altitude terroir in their glass.
