Spier

A Spier az egyik legrégebbi borgazdaság Stellenboschban, a dél-afrikai Cape borvidéken. A birtok borászatának története harminc évvel az első szőlőtelepítés utánra, 1692-re nyúlik vissza.

A Spier borok széles portfólióját állítja elő, amelyek sokféle stílust és szőlőfajtát tartalmaznak. A gyümölcsöt  Fokföld több régiójából szerzik be, hogy változatos borválasztékot kínálhassanak különböző árfekvésben.

A portfóliót a Frans K Smit termékcsalád vezeti, amely Semillon és Sauvignon Blanc, valamint  Cabernet Sauvingon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc és Petit Verdot házasított borok duója. Frans K Smit a birtok pincefőnöke.

A portfólió érdekessége a Seaward borválaszték, amely Dél-Afrika part menti borvidékeiről származik. Az Atlanti-óceán mérsékli a hőmérsékletet, biztosítva az egyenletes szőlőérést, miközben a tengeri szellő sós jelleget kölcsönöz a palackozott borgyűjteménynek.

További figyelemre méltó borok közé tartozik az egyfajtajú 21 Gabeles termékcsalád,  valamint a 235 Creative Block,  amely Rhone-i és Bordeaux-i stílusú házasítások.

Spier is one of the oldest wine farms in Stellenbosch in the Cape winelands of South Africa. The winemaking history of the estate dates back to 1692, thirty years after the first vines were planted in the country.

Spier produce a large portfolio of wines encompassing many different styles and grape varieties. Fruit is sourced from multiple regions across the Cape to allow for a diverse range of wines at various price points.

The portfolio is led by the Frans K Smit range, a duo of blended wines from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc as well as Cabernet Sauvingon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Frans K Smit is cellarmaster of the estate.  

An interesting addition to the portfolio is the Seaward range of wines composed of selections sourced from South Africa's coastal wine regions. The Atlantic ocean moderates the temperature to keep grape-ripening uniform whilst sea breezes contribute a saline character to the bottled wine collection. 

Other notable wines include the 21 Gabeles range composed of single varietal wines and the 235 Creative Block range of Rhone- and Bordeaux-style blends.
